Sponsors volunteer projects in seven areas: children and families, elderly, hunger and homelessness, affordable housing, environment, people living with disabilities, and people affected by HIV/AIDS.   
 
Fosters the well-being of residents through adoption, counseling, immigrant services, emergency financial aid, Youth Corps, and services for the homeless and domestic abuse victims.  
 
Collects and distributes necessities, provides companionship to those in need, helps people become independent, and physically repairs the community.     
 
Helps the Hispanic community of metropolitan DC adapt to North American society.  
 
Offers primary medical, mental health, and other supportive services to the community, and especially to those infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
