The Department of Human Services helps homeless residents become self-sufficient through programs addressing the need for shelter, education, mental health, employment, and more.
 

Bread for the City 

Bread for the City's 550 volunteers provide needed assistance at no cost to over 8,000 DC residents every month.
 

Capital Area Food Bank 

The Capital Area Food Bank is the largest public, non-profit food and nutrition education resource in the Metro Area.
 
Calvary offers basic services to homeless women and gives them a place to live. The organization also helps to educate and empower women for independent living. 
 

Central Union Mission

The Central Union Mission maintains an overnight shelter for homeless men.
