Helps prevent, prepare for, and respond to local, national, or international emergencies.
 
Volunteers tutor and mentor youth, build affordable housing, teach computer skills, clean parks and streams, run after-school programs, and help communities respond to disasters.
 
Offers parenting education, employment training, transitional housing, legal services, adoption and counseling, immigrant services, substance abuse counseling, and teen programs. 
 
Targets the root causes of poverty through programs focused on housing, community organizing, community services, employment, and youth services.
 
Provides education and training within the community, performs advocacy initiatives, conducts research, and serves as a local and national resource on domestic violence.
