The Executive Committee is the primary link to the Mayor, District Council, and other District government officials. They represent the DCYAC on all official occasions, chair the standing committees, and are responsible for administering the DCYAC meetings and other official business. The executive committee also collects, summarizes, and disseminates any policy or legislative initiatives that impact the youth of DC. They are the primary advocates for the DC Youth Advisory Council.

First, the Finance Committee allocates the DCYAC fund as a primary funding source for all DCYAC activities. Second, the Committee is in an advisory role to other committees on DCYAC initiatives, providing guidance and financial information. Finally, the committee prepares a budget once a year to be submitted to the Mayor and his/her agents for approval.
 
Marketing and Outreach Committee

Is responsible for increasing the visibility of the DCYAC, and for recruiting for vacant council seats. They are also responsible for increasing the number of ward advisors each year by promoting DCYAC throughout the city, gathering as many applications as possible. They are also responsible for gathering feedback on issues affecting youth in the city, and responsible for organizing community building events in the wards.

Rules committee will enforce and interpret the DCYAC bylaws as pertaining to councilmembers and ward advisors. The committee will conduct investigations into any alleged wrong doing by members and if wrongdoing is found then a recommendation of discipline can be made to the full body council. The committee will review the eligibility of each member at the end of the summer and report to the executive committee, the needs of the council. The committee will review the bylaws of the DCYAC and propose any amendments deemed necessary; review amendments to the bylaws proposed and make suggestions concerning the proposed amendment.

This special committee will ensure the DCYAC maintains diversity among the representative councilmembers and keep the DCYAC focused on diversity issues. They will seek out youth in the foster care, juvenile justice, GLBT, and disabled, communities and bring their issues to light. They will actively seek to find District youth in these areas to become a part of the DCYAC and promote solutions for the betterment of those communities.
