Sean N. GoughSean N. Gough is the Director of the District of Columbia Youth Advisory Council (DCYAC). Prior to his appointment, Mr. Gough served as one of the Neighborhood Services Coordinators (NSC) for Wards 4 and 6 within the Mayor's Office of Community Relations and Services (MOCRS). As a NSC, he effectively coordinated District agencies in addressing systemic challenges facing District neighborhoods. Additionally, he provided the connection between the community, the Mayor and the Government of the District of Columbia.

Preceding his appointment to MOCRS, Mr. Gough served as the Deputy Director of Extended Learning Programs and then Director of Special Initiatives at the Friendship Public Charter School (FPCS). During his tenure at FCPS, he developed a curricula focused around youth and civic engagement as well as implemented and managed an array of before and extended learning programs serving nearly 5,000 District youth and their families.

Formally, he served as manager of community affairs for DC Parks and Recreation, where he was charged with developing and guiding the execution of all policy and procedure issuances as it related to volunteerism, Adopt-a-Park programs, Friends of Groups and the acceptance of donations.

Mr. Gough is also not a stranger in the legislative branch of government. He served as chief of staff to Mayor Fenty during his first term as Ward 4 councilmember. In addition, he also served as legislative analyst and interim committee clerk for the Council of the District of Columbia's Committee on Education Recreation and Libraries; chaired by former Ward 7 councilmember, the Honorable Kevin P. Chavous.

Mr. Gough is a product of the DC Public Schools and obtained a bachelor's in political science and economics from the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).
