The US Department of Health and Human Services provides information, facts, and statistics as well as a searchable database to locate community assistance for the elderly.

 

Alzheimer's Association

This national network of chapters is committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s and helping those affected by the disease.

 

American Federation for Aging Research

This nonprofit supports both basic and clinical biomedical research into aging and age-related diseases and conditions.

 

DC Office on Aging

Operates the Information and Assistance Center and the Senior Employment and Training Program; contracts for and monitors the operation of a District-owned, privately operated nursing home; and funds a Senior Service Network that provides direct services to elderly residents.

 

FirstGov for Seniors 

Helps users access all federal government sites that provide services for senior citizens, such as the Social Security Administration, the Health Care Financing Administration, the Administration on Aging, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.   

 

Washington Elderly Handicapped Transportation Services

Provides transportation to any DC resident 60 or older for medical appointments, shopping, and personal business related to income, benefits, housing, and medical concerns.
